Global stock markets closed mixed on Tuesday (Dec. 8). Stocks in the United States (US) continued the rally on positive COVID-19 news, and as negotiations for a new stimulus bill in the US continued. The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine rollout started in the United Kingdom (UK), and Johnson & Johnson said it could get late-stage trial results of a single-dose vaccine it is developing in January. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader McConnell said Congress should pass a coronavirus aid package that includes measures that Democrats and Republicans can agree on and exclude provisions causing division.
