It has been nearly three years since the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) uncovered a case of corruption dubbed as the Budget Mafia Case. The case later ensnared civil servants at the Ministry of Finance as key individual suspects. Later, the trial left many speechless with the revelation that dozens of regional leaders allegedly involved. The decision for the latest defendant in the case was read several months ago, but there are two remaining suspects to be prosecuted. On Nov. 10, 2020, the KPK announced that it had named two new suspects in the case, namely the Regent of North Labuhanbatu one Khairuddin Syah Sitorus and one Puji Suhartono.
