Global stock markets mostly extended gains on Tuesday (Aug. 4) driven by upbeat manufacturing data worldwide. Still, investors remained wary of developments in the coronavirus pandemic across the globe, despite positive news that Eli Lilly announced it would start a phase 3 trial of its experimental antibody drug. The number of people infected with the coronavirus across the world surpassed 18.2 million, of which at least 693 thousand people have, according to data released by Johns Hopkins University.
