The State Palace noted that the Indonesian economy had not entered a recession after contracting 5.32% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2020. The global consensus defines a recession for a country if the economy posted a negative growth or contraction for two consecutive quarters on a year on year (y/y) basis, not quarterly basis.
