Global markets extended gains on Thursday (Feb. 6) as coronavirus and trade policy fears continue. China’s Ministry of Finance announced that beginning Feb. 14, it would slash in half tariffs on US$75 billion of US imports as part of phase-one trade resolutions, spurred the buying in stocks. US Treasury Secretary Mnuchin said he doesn’t expect the coronavirus to affect China’s commitment to buy US$200 billion of US goods.
