Stocks markets in Asia were mixed on Monday in quiet trading ahead of holidays. Shang Hai composite dropped 25 points or 0.84 percent to 2,979, at around 02:09 China time. The Chinese Finance Ministry said earlier on the day that it will reduce import tariffs on over 850 products from 1st January, including frozen pork and frozen avocado, while will also further lower import tariffs on some information technology products from July 1, 2020. Also, Hang Seng index fell 30 points tot 27,841, at around 02:18 PM Hong Kong time. South Korea’s KOSPI was almost flat to close at 2,203. Meantime, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index edged up 4.5 points or 0.02 percent to finish at 23,821.
