Global stock markets hit their lowest levels in a month on Wednesday (Oct. 2) as signs of a slowdown in the economic growth of the United States (U.S.) and weak earnings in Europe fanned fears that the U.S.-China trade war could push the global economy into a recession. Fears of a recession are currently fed by persistent trade tensions, ahead of a top-level meeting between the U.S. and China representatives in Washington next week.
