Shares of cigarette producers listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) collapsed this morning following government’s plan to raise significantly the tobacco excise starting January 1st, 2020. Gudang Garam (GGRM) crashed 20.2%, while HM Sampoerna (HMSP) tumbled 19.3%. Shares of Wismilak (WIIM) also dropped 9.62%.
