Imports to Indonesia tumbled 15.6% year-on-year to US$14.20 billion in Agust 2019, after a marginally revised 15.19% decrease in the previous month. Purchases of non-oil and gas contracted 8.77% from a year earlier to US$12.56 billion, and those of oil and gas slumped 46.47% to US$1.63 billion.

Exports from Indonesia dropped 9.99% from a year earlier to US$14.8 billion in August 2019, after a marginally revised 5.10% fall in the prior month. It was the ninth straight month of decrease in exports, as sales of non-oil and gas products dropped by 7.18% to US$13.40 billion and those of oil and gas plunged by 38.52% to US$0.88 billion.
