The Central Statistics Bureau (BPS) on Thursday (Aug. 15) announced that the country had turned to a deficit of US$600 million in July 2019, from a surplus of US$300 million in the previous month. The change happened due to a lower surplus in non-oil-and-gas, though oil-and-gas deficit improved. The import of non-oil-and-gas increased, while export of oil-and-gas rose, cutting the deficit in oil-and-gas trade.
