On October 20, 2019, K.H. Ma’ruf Amin will become the new vice president of the Republic, which is arguably the second most powerful position in the country. But some still doubt that Ma’ruf would have a powerful role. He might only have limited power like Jusuf Kalla in President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s first term, or even less.
