Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia edged up 0.11% from a year earlier to 1.30 million people in April 2019. The number of foreign visitors were up in Batam (7.99% to 155.6 thousand), while fell in Bali resort island, the center of Indonesian tourism industry (-7.75% to 476.2 thousand) as well as in Jakarta (-11.96% to 198.07 thousand). Malaysia, followed by Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand, contributed the most foreign tourists to Indonesia in April. Considering the first four month of 2019, the number of tourist arrivals grew by 3.22% to 5.12 million. For 2019, Indonesia sets a target of 20 million foreign tourist arrivals, compared to 15.81 million in 2018.
