The banking sector expects to grow this year even though the global economy remains in a slowdown. The banking credit or loan is projected to grow 12-14% this year. National banks expect their profit to increase by 10-15%, a double-digit growth. OCBC NISP, however, warned that external factors, mainly the trade tension between the United States (U.S.) and China would cap the banking sector growth this year.
