Indonesian retail trade grew 2.3% from a year earlier in June 2018, following an 8.3% rise in the previous month. It was the smallest gain in retail trade since February, supported by lower sales of food, beverages & tobacco (6.6% vs 11.3% in May) and automotive parts & accessories (1.1% vs 8.3%).

In addition, sales dropped for clothing (-11.2% vs 16.5%) and other household goods (-0.5% vs 6.7%); and fell for the 13th consecutive month information & communication equipment (-14.4% vs -9.5%). Contrarily, sales picked up for fuel (10.7% vs 9.3%) and cultural & recreational goods (3.7% vs 0.4 %).
