Cement maker Holcim Indonesia (SMCB) suffered loss of Rp284.58 billion in 2016, against Rp199.49 billion profit in 2015. It posted no gain on sale of discontinued operations last year. While in 2015, SMCB booked Rp583 billion gain for said item. Its net sales rose 2.4% to Rp9.46 trillion while cost of goods sold increased 6% to Rp7.53 trillion. While its peers, Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa (INTP) reported 11% decline in net profit for 2016 (to Rp3.87 trillion) as sales fell 13.7% to Rp15.36 trillion. State cement producer Semen Indonesia (SMGR) said its profit inched up 0.2% to Rp4.53 trillion last year though sales declined 3% to Rp26.1 trillion.
