The Jakarta Metro Police had sent a letter to the head of the North Jakarta District Court asking them to delay the upcoming trial of blasphemy defendant Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama. Citing security reason, the Police asked for the trial to be postponed until after the voting day of the runoff election. As we know, the next trial session is scheduled to be held on Apr. 11, 2017, with the agenda of listening to the demands of the public prosecutors.
