The Indonesian economy performed relatively well in 2016, but persistent uncertainties in the global financial markets might affect the Country’s economic development this year. The World Bank (WB) recently noted the uncertainty in global economic policy and global financial market volatility. The looming risks, WB said, are such as ongoing international financial volatility together with sluggish global trade, subdued growth in advanced economies, continued deceleration of economic growth in China, global policy uncertainty (particularly concerning global trade agreements), and the pace of interest rate normalization in the U.S..
