Late last year, we mentioned that in 2017 President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo would continue to consolidate his influence in Islam politics in order to have a better grip on Muslim leaders and Muslim groups/organizations. We also mentioned that Jokowi could no longer rely on Vice President Jusuf Kallla and Islamic political parties within his ruling coalition in said work. Jokowi himself must do the work of obtaining the support of ulemas, habibs, and other Muslim leaders and Muslim groups/organizations.
