In the first instalment of this series of article, I’ve presented the argument why it’s premature to conclude that the incumbent Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and his running mate Vice Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat no longer has the chance to winning the election. Today, let’s look at the numbers. Indeed, the incumbent can still win the election, but the numbers in the polls show that the election would have to go through two rounds because no one is capable of winning 50 percent plus one of the votes.
