Many have begun to discuss the idea that the Head of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN) Police Commissioner General Budi Waseso (otherwise referred to by many by his nickname “Buwas”) would compete in Jakarta’s 2017 gubernatorial race as a governor candidate of the Gerindra Party. Buwas was said as a likely pair for businessman Sandiaga “Sandi” Uno, who is also the deputy chairman of Gerindra’s Advisory Council.
