At the end of May 2016 news, a map published by the Singaporean property developer Funtasy Island Development (FID) Pte Ltd—the developer of Pulau Manis in Batam—made news. In said map, Pulau Manis, marketed under the name Funtasy Island, was colored turquoise, the same as the rest of Singapore, whereas Malaysia and Indonesia territory were colored white. As a result of these difference in coloring, Pulau Manis appeared as if it’s a part of Singaporean territory.
