In the first instalment of this article, we discussed one of the ways of reducing the number of political parties at the House of Representatives (DPR) and the regional legislative councils (DPRDs), i.e., by way of increasing the parliamentary threshold. But the same goal can also be accomplished by way of creating a stricter set of requirements for the establishment of political parties, and by way of making it harder for political parties to participate in the legislative election.
