The Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law & Security Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan told the press that President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo would only talk about the National Police chief succession in July 2016, or nearing the end of term of the current Police Chief General Badrodin Haiti. President Jokowi has two options: to extend or not to extend Badrodin’s tenure. The latter would lead to the process of nominating a new candidate to be vetted by the House of Representatives (DPR).
