The central bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) claims that inflation of food prices has been controlled. In the first week of February 2016, BI recorded a 0.14% deflation, compared to 0.36% deflation in the same period of 2015. Data from the Trade Ministry shows prices decline for beef, broiler chicken, eggs, rice, red pepper, and fuel during the first week of this month.
