The Attorney General Office (AGO) has expedited their investigation into the scandal involving the Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto, and businessman Mohammad Reza Chalid—Novanto was caught on tape asking PT Freeport Indonesia for the company’s to-be-divested shares in exchange for facilitating extension of contract. The AGO has questioned Freeport’s CEO Rear Air Marshal (ret.) Maroef Sjamsoeddin twice in the past two days. The AGO has also seized Maroef’s mobile phone, in which the original recording of his conversation with Novanto and Reza is stored. Is the AGO serious with this investigation, or are they just playing games? To subscribe please click here
