Indonesian politics has gotten rowdier ever since the transcript of the controversial meetings between House Speaker Setya Novanto, businessman M. Reza Chalid, and the leaders of PT Freeport Indonesia got leaked to the press. It now appears that Agung Laksono’s faction is using the momentum of the scandal to pressure their rival, i.e., the faction of Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie, the faction of which Setya Novanto is a member.
