The Regional Election Law is perhaps one of the best examples of a poor piece of legislation. The House of Representatives (DPR) amended the law for 4 times in the span of 5 months—in the period beginning September 2014 to February 2015. There is now the possibility that the Law will yet again be amended in view of the dearth of regional leader candidates contesting in the 2015 simultaneous regional elections.To subscribe please click here
