President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s Democratic Party officially announced its decision to support the implementation of direct election of regional leaders on Thursday (Sep. 18). The Democratic Party’s change of political standing is a welcome wind of change that will certainly affect the formation of support for the Regional Election Bill (RUU Pilkada) at the House of Representatives (DPR).
