Indonesia is not exactly a prolific producer of dairy products. According to Central Statistics Agency (BPS)’s records, Indonesia was only able to produce 38.5 million liters of milk in 2012, higher than the 36.5 million liters in 2011. But despite the annual growth in production, the demand for milk is higher than what the country can produce. Indonesians need 6 million litres of milk per day, and 80 percent of that are imported from the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium and Canada.To subscribe please click here
