Dick Gelael is considered one of pioneers of modern retail industry in Indonesia. He started out Gelael Supermarket in early 70s. In late 70s, Dick started out Kentucky Fried Chicken fast food chain, which has now become the largest player with 467 outlets. Dick passed away yesterday. Dick is survived his wife Elizabeth, two sons (Ricardo and Fabian) and daughter Noni. They are all, except Noni, members of the board of commissioners and directors of Fast Food Indonesia.
