Bank Mega (MEGA), controlled by Chairul Tanjung, who is coordinating minister of the economy, is one of few major banks reporting significant decline in total assets of 7.7% in the first six months of 2014 to Rp61.27 trillion. While the bank’s lending expanded 8.2% in the period, third party funds declined significantly by 9.2% to Rp44.19 trillion.
