Internal divisions in Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s party the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) resulted in haphazard, last-minute support for Jokowi during the presidential campaign period. PDI-P’s political machination failed to do what they were supposed to do. But Jokowi won the presidential race anyway. The key to his victory was the incredibly devoted support of his millions of volunteers all over Indonesia. Yesterday afternoon was the time for the volunteers to celebrate.
