The benchmark May 2014 contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) finally settled above RM2700 per ton this week. Contracts for March-June also ended above RM2700 per ton, while the second half hovers below RM2700. Lackluster production in Indonesia and Malaysia contributed to the short-term supply disruptions, which lifted the commodity in the past few weeks.
