Last year the General Election Commission (KPU) made the announcement that campaign banners for the 2014 general elections could no longer be indiscriminately displayed. Prior to the new rule, legislative hopefuls were allowed to haphazardly put up their (often ghastly) banners all over town. So the news that they could no longer ruin the view was hard to accept. But while this may be bad news for politicians, business owners who offer other types of marketing collaterals benefit from the additional budget for leaflets, brochures, postures and the rest.
