Here are some of the adjectives that people have used to describe him: stubborn, temperamental, and rude. And yet he is arguably the best Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a state-owned enterprise in the past three years. So much so, his work has gotten people to wonder about the possible coming of the Golden Age of Indonesian trains. Some have even considered him to be the most competent candidate to head the Ministry of Transportation. And then there are those who consider him to be one of the best candidates to becoming Jokowi’s running mate in July’s presidential election. He is Ignasius Jonan, the Chief of state-owned railway company (PT KAI).
