Sebuku Block is home to the Ruby Gas Field with capital investment of US$500 million. The gas field has secured plan of development from government of Indonesia in July 2008 to produce about 100 MMSCFD of gas for fertilizer plant in North Bontang, East Kalimantan. The block is a unique example of conflict over resources in Indonesia.
