Prabowo’s Special Envoys: Setiawan Ichlas

President Prabowo Subianto appointed seven special envoys. One of them that is worth highlighting is Setiawan Ichlas, who has been appointed as special envoy for economy and banking affairs. Who is he?

New Ministers: Budi Arie Setiadi

Some people may not consider the Ministry of Cooperatives as a strategic portfolio, but it actually plays an important role in Indonesian economy, especially for those in the villages, regencies, and municipalities across the country. What’s interesting is that the Ministry of Cooperatives is now led by Budi Arie Setiadi, a loyalist of Jokowi (Prabowo Subianto’s predecessor) and Ferry Joko Juliantono, Prabowo’s loyalist and deputy chairman of Prabowo’s Gerindra Party.

New Ministers: Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin

Pretty much as predicted, President Prabowo Subianto appointed his closest buddy and trusted aide since their years at the military, Lt. Gen. (ret) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, as the new Minister of Defense. Sjafrie is assisted by one Vice Minister, Vice Air Marshal (ret) Donny Ermawan, who previously worked as the secretary general of Defense Ministry when Prabowo served as Defense Minister under Jokowi’s administration.

New Ministers: Arifatul Choiri Fauzi

Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, a female leader of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, has been appointed by President Prabowo Subianto as the new Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection replacing I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati Puspayoga, a PDIP politician. The President also appointed Veronica Tan, former wife of then Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama a.k.a Ahok, as the Vice Minister.

New Ministers: Dito Ariotedjo

President Prabowo Subianto decided to keep Dito Ariotedjo, a politician from Golkar Party, as the Minister of Youth and Sports. This time, Dito is assisted by one Vice Minister, Taufik Hidayat.

Danantara Chief: Muliaman Hadad

Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad has been sworn in by President Prabowo Subianto as the chief of the new powerful investment company, BP Danantara. Let’s get to know Muliaman, who is former chief of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Fadli Zon, the Deputy Chairman of Gerindra Party and a closest aide of President Prabowo Subianto, has been appointed as the Minister of Culture. He’s assisted by one Vice Minister, Giring Ganesha, a musician turned into a politician.

New Ministers: Nasaruddin Umar

President Prabowo Subianto appointed Nasaruddin Umar, the grand Imam of the Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque, as the new Minister of Religious Affairs. It’s worth noting that Nasaruddin was considered by PDIP as the running mate of Ganjar Pranowo back in 2024 presidential election. In the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin is assisted by one Vice Minister, Muhammad Syafi’i, a politician from Prabowo’s Gerindra Party.

New Ministers: Abdul Mu’ti

Abdul Mu’ti, the secretary general of Muhammadiyah’s Central Board (PP), has been appointed as the Minister of Lower Education. Mu’ti is assisted by two vice ministers: Fajar Riza Ul Haq, who is also a figure from Muhammadiyah, the second largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, and Atip Latipulhayat from the Persatuan Islam (Persis), an Islamic organization with a stronghold in West Java.
