The East Java High Prosecutors’ Office (Kejati Jatim) has just named the former President Director of PT INKA, Budi Noviantara, as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption. Budi is suspected of being involved in the misappropriation of bailout funds intended to finance a cooperation project with the US-based The Sandi Group in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The revelation of this case certainly raises many questions, INKA’s reputation domestically—just like the other State-owned Enterprises—is not very good, so how can there be cooperation in other projects on a continent so far away?
