President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is set to issue a government regulation in lieu of law (Perpu) for the sake of maintaining direct local election. But a Perpu still has to be approved by the House of Representatives (DPR). The problem is that the Perpu the President is about to issue is designed to replace the Regional Elections Bill that the DPR had just passed late last week.
