Indonesia’s consumer confidence increased to 128.3 in May 2023 from 126.1 in April, pointing to the highest level since May 2022. Households’ assessment regarding the country’s economic outlook improved (up by 2.3 points to 137.8), and those of current economic conditions strengthened (up by 2.3 points to 118.9). Also, the job availability rose (by 3.0 points to 121.1), as did the job availability compared to six months ago (by 0.1 points to 136.6) and current income (up by 1.5 points to 125.4). On the other hand, sub-indexes of income expectations for the next six months were lower (down by 1.0 points to 136.9).
