It has been five years since the Government of Indonesia terminated its coal mining concession agreement (PKP2B) with PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup (PT AKT), a subsidiary of PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk (BORN, now delisted) belonging to Samin Tan. Samin Tan goes on to become a graft suspect, then a fugitive, only to be acquitted by the court. The acquittal decision was upheld by the Supreme Court in June 2022 but during the legal process, even though the company still operates, PT AKT also continue to struggle. Recently, we learned that PT AKT once again filed a lawsuit against the Government, while in Central Kalimantan, the company was defeated by its own employees.
