Asian shares followed Wall Street higher on Thursday after softer-than-expected US inflation data raised hopes the Fed may start to slow the pace of tightening. Tech shares were among the top performers, pushing the Hang Seng index up more than 2%, and shaking off three consecutive days of losses. The Shanghai Composite added 1.6% to 3281.7, even after the PBoC warned the structural inflation pressure may increase in the short term, but pledged to safeguard the economy against inflation threats. The ASX closed 1.1% higher at 7071, the strongest in nearly two months. Markets in Japan were closed for a holiday.
