RMK Energy (RMKE) will issue bonds amounting to Rp1.5 trillion in the near future which will be used for expansion outside South Sumatra. RMKE Investor & Public Relations Julius Caesar Samosir said the issuance of rupiah bonds was carried out as capital for expansion outside South Sumatra.
The issuance of bonds in rupiah is also carried out because the costs incurred and RMKE’s financial reports are recorded in rupiah. According to Julius, rupiah bonds are safer than issuance in other currencies. While the expansion outside South Sumatra is part of the target to increase logistics capacity to 20 million tons by 2028 from the current 7.6 million tons. Apart from that, RMKE is also targeting an increase in coal sales to 9.9 million tons in the next four years.
