Military Commander Succession & 2024 Race

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo gave a brief statement regarding the succession of the Military Commander (Panglima TNI) and Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), in which the President indicated that he won’t accelerate the succession. In the meantime, the ruling party PDIP mentioned that Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, the chief of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has more potential to become the KSAD compared to his two juniors, Lt. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak and Lt. Gen.
