Pretty much as predicted, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo appointed his trusted aide, Heru Budi Hartono, as the acting governor of Jakarta. Heru, who is now the head of the Presidential Secretariat, will start leading the city on Oct. 16, 2022 replacing Anies Baswedan. Meanwhile, the President also appointed Hendrar Prihadi, the former mayor of Semarang, as the new head of the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP). Interestingly, Hendrar Prihadi has been mentioned as one of potential governor candidates from the ruling party PDIP for the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election in 2024.
