Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region were higher on Monday, with the Hang Seng adding more than 2% around half-an-hour before the closing bell, and outperforming its regional peers. It follows a Wall Street’s rebound on Friday, amid expectations the Fed will deliver a 75bps rate hike instead of a bigger 100bps. At the same time, China’s central bank Governor Yi Gan said the central bank will “increase implementation of prudent monetary policy” to support the real economy, which also helped to lift investors’ mood. The Shanghai Composite closed 1.6% higher at 3278, the ASX 200 1.2% at 6687 and the Kospi added 1.9% to 2375. Markets in Japan were closed for the Marine Day holiday.
