Major stock markets in Asia were mostly higher in Wednesday afternoon trade, with some of the markets recovering after a weak start amid concerns over the spread of the coronavirus that has killed 9 in China so far and sickened 440 people. The Shanghai composite added 12 points, or 0.4% to 3,063, at around 02:45 PM China time, after dropping more than 1% in the morning, and following an announcement from China’s National Health Commission that said it will take more strict measures in hospitals to protect healthcare workers in virus outbreak.
