As predicted, Comr. Gen. Tito Karnavian passed the House of Representative (DPR)’s fit-and-proper test smoothly. The DPR’s Commission III, by way of acclamation, decided to accept Tito’s nomination to serve as the chief of the National Police (POLRI). A recommendation to confirm Tito’s nomination will be presented at the DPR’s plenary meeting to be held on Monday, June 27. In the meantime, rumours and speculations have begun to circulate on who will be Tito’s second-in-command and who will be promoted into the other strategic POLRI leadership positions following Tito’s rise to power.
