Update on the Divestment of Freeport Indonesia’s Shares

PT Freeport Indonesia offered 10.64 percent of its shares to the Government of Indonesia on Januari 14, 2016 at the price of US$1.7 billion. As per the Government Regulation No. 77/2014 on the Mining of Minerals and Coal, the Government of Indonesia has 60 days to respond. But that stipulation doesn’t seem to carry much weight.
