2017 Jakarta Election: Who Will PDI-P’s Governor Candidate Be?

PDI-P, the largest political party in Jakarta, and the only political party able to endorse a governor candidate without having to establish a coalition with other political parties, has opened a governor candidate selection process, in a move to find a contender for incumbent Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama. PDI-P told the press that 23 candidates had registered themselves. But the most interesting claim is that the Party may revisit the idea of endorsing the popular Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini as their governor candidate.To subscribe please click here
